The ocean is making the news! The University of Delaware Marine Public Education Office produces nearly 50 press releases each year on current marine research, education, and outreach activities conducted by the University of Delaware Sea Grant College Program and the UD College of Marine and Earth Studies. They are distributed and used by reporters on the local to international level. If you are a reporter, publisher, or film producer seeking information, footage, photos, or research experts, contact the office at (302) 831-8083 or MarineCom@udel.edu.

The University of Delaware Sea Grant College Program also offers a variety of public workshops, lectures, and special events throughout the year on topics ranging from rip currents and safe seafood handling to horseshoe crabs and smart-growth planning. A lunch-time lecture series focusing on the latest UD marine research is held periodically at the Hotel Du Pont in Wilmington from late fall through early spring. An evening lecture series is held from late spring through early fall at the Lewes campus.
