Sea Flicks

The little elves of the Engine Room were busy decorating in preparation for our tour led by First Engineer Jim Schubert. Wiper Michael Doherty helped me understand what we're looking at in this clip. "You'll see two of our three large engines, called 'CATs' (3516 Caterpillar engines, that's 3.5 liters and 16 cylinders). We also have three 'kittens' (3508 Caterpillar engines, that's 3.5 liters and 8 cylinders)."

Tonight, as we transit from 13° north to San Diego, the scientists and crew enjoyed a cookout on the fantail. Check out the sunset we saw! Alvin Pilot-in-Training Gavin Eppard said, "This is paradise!"
