A stow-away bird somehow flew into the hydrolab. Birds are frequent visitors to the boat. They get blown off course by hurricanes and storms and look for a resting place.

Stefan and Craig talk about the dive. This particular dive was very difficult. There were a few hard deployments, which drained the power on the sub. There were also a few electrical problems, which shortened the bottom time. Each dive to the bottom is a little different. Things happen to equipment, conditions change, and the plan sometimes has to be altered once on the bottom. It's hard to be upbeat when things don't go as planned, but it's all part of doing research. You have to deal with what you have.
